About SADFinder
Last updated · May 17, 2026
SADFinder started as an itch. After fifteen years on Windows Explorer and four on Finder, the lack of a real path bar, real tabs with restore, and proper window snapping became impossible to ignore. The plan was to write it once, for myself, and stop complaining.
What shipped is the file manager I always wanted: native Swift 6 and SwiftUI under the hood, AppKit where the platform calls for it, GRDB for a fast SQLite-backed cache, and an obsessive amount of attention to keyboard responsiveness. There is no Electron. There is no telemetry. The app does its job and stays out of the way.
What we won't do
- Tracking. Not in the app, not on this site.
- Bundled junk. No referral popups, no growth-hack newsletters.
- Bait-and-switch pricing. Lifetime is lifetime. If the product ever sunsets, the last build keeps working forever.
The team
